Client of the Week

This weeks shout out goes to Justin Kotas!  Here is a little bit about Justin’s journey

My fitness journey started close to 10 years ago when I wanted to look and feel better after not caring for so long.  I started with a bench and a barbell I had at my house and after starting to use them I found I loved to work out.  I joined a gym and continued to train but had no idea what to do or what routine to follow.  I pretty much did what magazines told me would work with a little progress at first but nothing significant.  I continued to plug away at it on my own but was involved in a car accident that left me in a wheelchair for a few months.  I had to start all over again from square one.  This time, fitness and working out became an obsession.  I wanted to get back to where I was pre-accident and then improve from there.  After some significant progress I hit a plateau.  I knew I couldn’t do this myself so I thought maybe if I worked with a trainer they could help me break this plateau I hit.  I drove by Jada Blitz a few times so I decided to look them up on line.  I saw they had great reviews of their trainers and their group fitness classes.  I thought this is just what I need.  I decided to check it out and I’ve never looked back!  They have helped me and continue to help me every week become the best version of myself.  I now hope I can teach people and give others the guidance, wisdom, and hope to help them reach their goals just like Justin, Don, and the whole Jada Blitz Team did for me.

I chose Jada Blitz because the gym is so friendly and family orientated.  The staff is always willing to help and answer any questions you might have.  The trainers will work with you as hard as they can to help you reach your goals.  Their routines are unique every time I go to either a training session or a class.  My favorite class is Operation Bootcamp with Jacob.  He incorporates some different military style exercises that really push me to my limits which I love.

How does your trainer motivate you through a workout?

Don gets me pumped up by always pushing me through every session.  He also adds humor into our sessions which makes it more personable.  He is always supporting me whether he’s spotting me, or correcting my form.  He is also consistently giving me that extra motivation and confidence to go a little further or lift a little heavier…something I didn’t have before.

What is your favorite body part to train?

I love to train back and legs.  I can lift the heaviest with my back and legs.  My favorite lift is the dead lift.

What is your favorite pre-post workout meal?

My favorite pre-workout meal is just a protein shake with creatine…maybe a little pre-workout supplement and a cup of rice.  Post workout lately I have been having a shake at Jada Blitz’s new shake bar.  I love the Yaminator or Nutter Butter.  Then when I get home I’ll eat some chicken or steak with some vegetables and some kind of complex carbohydrate.

What is one attribute you love about your trainer?

I train with Don.  Don has many attributes I like…the fact that he get me laughing even when I’m totally out of breath!  Or his incredible kindness…giving me a gift for Christmas this past year.  But most importantly his ingeniously effective workouts that continuously push me to be my best and strongest.

Why should someone looking for a gym try Jada Blitz?

People should join Jada Blitz because they are the friendliest people…make you feel like part of a family.  They go out of their way to help you reach your goals and become a healthier version of yourself.  I remember one of my first days at Jada Blitz.  I had a training session with a Personal Trainer and as I was walking to my car, Justin Draper himself walked up to me in the parking lot and asked how I was doing and if I liked my session with the trainer.  He also asked if there was anything he could do for me.  I couldn’t believe I had a conversation with the owner of the gym on the first day I was there…and now I see him every time I’m there.  Where else does that happen??!!  Not to mention they have the best gym mascot ever…their dog Tucker!!!  It’s just the best place to be!
