Describe your fitness journey.
I have had an up and down relationship with fitness. I have always been active to some extent, but I have also always been “chubby”. I lost 20lbs before my wedding mainly by doing hours of cardio. When trying to get pregnant I gained all 20lbs and then some back while doing nothing out of the ordinary. After having my daughter I realized that I don’t want her to look at me and see someone who sits around eating chips and watching TV. I want her to see that eating right and staying fit and active can be your lifestyle. I don’t want her to look at me and be disappointed in anyway.
Why did you choose Jada Blitz as your fitness facility?
I had a friend who was training at the facility already so I asked her about her experience so far. What she told me made me look into it further and I emailed for a consultation. I had never pushed myself as hard as I did in that consult. Justin and I had a conversation as well about my goals and why I wanted to reach them. I knew after that day I needed to make myself a priority and this was the place that would help me do that.
How does your trainer motivate you through a workout?
I train with Steph and lets just say from the first time we met i knew she was the perfect match for me. She always encourages me to do better. When I think I can’t do anymore she is right there in my ear telling me I can and cheering me on. Steph has such an crazy energy about her, its contagious. She believes in me especially when I don’t believe in myself.
What is your favorite body part to train and why?
In the beginning I would have said my arms because it seemed I worked on those the most before I started with Steph. Now, I would have to say legs. For me training my legs is the most rewarding, I overcome a lot of mental and physical challenges during leg day, and these baby quads are proof lol
Do you have a go-to jam that gets you pumped? What is it?
I don’t have a specific song I go to. I like songs that are upbeat and that I can turn up and just tune out everything around me to train.
Favorite pre-post workout meal?
I typically have a chicken sandwich on a flat-out wrap pre workout, Post workout is usually dinner so whatever we are eating that day.
What is one attribute you love about your trainer?
There are so many attributes about Steph that I love. I love how she lives in the now. Steph has such a love for life and an attitude to go with it. She is so motivating in and out of the gym. I love how honest she is with me and that she says it like it is. I could go on…
Why should someone looking to join a gym come to Jada Blitz?
Joining Jada Blitz was one of the best decisions I have made. The trainers are all so knowledgeable and really tailor how they work with their clients (unlike other gyms I have been to). The environment is so positive and motivating, you are pushed outside your comfort zone.
