Client of the Week: Claudia Dejesus

My journey with Jada Blitz first started back in 2010 when there wasn’t a Jada Blitz but when Justin Draper was training at a local gym. Right off the bat, I could tell there was something different about Justin’s training and technique. Justin was constantly switching up my workout’s which not only made the experience fun but led to improvements in my body’s physique. During this time I started law school, began working full time, and seriously fell off the wagon. It was not until 2013 that I learned Justin had opened his own gym. After two years of not working out, we needed to start back at square one. I remember my first workout back where I could not even pull my body weight up on the TRX. Needless to say, I was in rough shape but Justin stood by me and helped me get back to where I had been just a few years before.

Now, I train with Mike Kiripolsky. Mike is simply amazing. He is not only patient with me during my 30 minutes of complaining, but he is always helping me  push my body to the next level. My least favorite word in Mike’s vocabulary is “burpee” and I can tell when he is about to make me drop and give him 10. Though I often roll my eyes, Mike encourages me to keep pushing and at the end of the day, I am better for it. Since training with him, I have noticed a huge increase in my strength and endurance. Squats that used to tire me out- now, I can do four set of 15 and be a-okay! It’s so rewarding to see your body and it’s capabilities improve and change in that way. By no means is my fitness journey near completion, but Mike and the Jada Blitz family hold me accountable when it comes to fitness. Being surrounded by such great people makes me not want to let them down, and more importantly not let myself down. This accountability is priceless to me because if I had it my way, it would be netflix and pizza all the way.

Jada Blitz is truly not just a gym, it has become an extended family. This place has introduced me to so many great people along the way. There is a constant positive energy that makes you want to work harder. As someone who trains in the morning, I have come to know other members and look forward to seeing them every day. While I am working out with Mike, I get to joke around with fellow client’s like Susan, Dan, and Matt. The laughs and comradery make my workout’s more enjoyable and make getting out of bed at 5:50 a.m. that much easier. It has truly been a privilege to be part of the Jada Blitz family and see Justin’s vision flourish into the booming business that it is today. I hope to be around for many more workout’s and laugh’s with these amazing people and I am looking forward to leg day with Mike tomorrow!
