Tell us about your ongoing fitness journey:
My fitness journey is just beginning. After graduating nursing school in 2012, I knew it was time to get in shape. I lost about 50 lbs in about 8 months by just changing my diet. I slowly started to incorporate working out. I mostly did cardio, thinking I will keep losing more weight. After a steady plateau of no weight loss, I resorted back to just watching what I ate, and eating less calories. It worked for a little bit, and then I slowly hit another plateau. This past September I got married, so I decided I wanted to tone up for my wedding. I did some workout videos at home that incorporated weights. I was finally seeing results again, but this time I wasn’t just losing weight, I was gaining muscle. In October my mom and I decided to stop into Jada Blitz to find out more about the gym. We decided to try it for a month. We did our first session together with Adam. I remember walking out of the gym feeling like I was going to die! I was hesitant to stick with it, because I felt like I was too out of shape to be there. Also being very shy didn’t help. After a few more sessions, and learning more about my body, my doubt went away and I loved going! Everyone at Jada Blitz was very friendly and made me feel like I fit in.
Favorite body part to train:
My upper body has been my biggest insecurity, so I would have to say back and shoulders is my favorite part to train. I have seen the biggest transformation in that area. I never thought it was possible for me to have muscle there. I’m currently working on accomplishing doing pull ups completely on my own! No extra little push from Adam!
What is your favorite aspect about your journey at Jada Blitz?
The best part of Jada Blitz is having that feeling that you fit in and belong there. Every other gym I belonged too I was uncomfortable and hated going there, so I eventually would stop going. Jada Blitz has taught me so much about myself. I never thought I was physically capable of doing some of the things I have done there. Everyone is very approachable and friendly. I never thought after walking into Jada Blitz on my first day, I would walk out with friends and people that impacted my life so much.
Favorite pre and post workout meals:
On the days I train with Adam I like to work out early in the morning. My favorite pre workout meal is a rice cake with sugar free jelly, or peanut butter. My favorite post workout meal is protein pancakes topped with either syrup and fat free whip cream, or fat free cheesecake pudding mix. I have a huge sweet tooth so I normally eat my protein pancakes for two meals a day.
Attribute you love about your trainer:
The first time I met Adam, I was able to feel comfortable and myself around him. After the first few sessions with him, I realized this guy really believes in me and thinks I can accomplish my goals. From then on I never doubted him and listened very closely to what he had to say. He pushes me when I feel like giving up and gives me the motivation I need when I’m struggling to finish that last rep. Adam has given me the right nutritional guidance I needed. I am finally starting to be a believer that if you slowly up your macros it speeds up your metabolism and you won’t gain weight! That was a very hard concept for me to grasp, but I put my trust into Adam and seen wonderful results from it. The impact he has had on my fitness journey is definitely unforgettable. He has shown me a real love for fitness and I have taken away so much knowledge and passion for working out.
