Client of the Week

This weeks shout out goes to Matt Horrigan!!  Here is a little bit about Matt’s amazing transformation

To describe my fitness journey you first have to know I weighed 440 lbs (at my heaviest).  From the time I was 18 to 33 years old the weight just built up.  I always thought that size didn’t matter.  I was referred to as “a big teddy bear” and I found that to be an acceptable nickname.  What made me want to lose the weight?  Clothes; it’s personally embarrassing when you have to go into a specialty store to purchase clothing (which is very expensive).  So I decided to spend the money and commit to a better lifestyle and a smaller me!  I joined a local gym (Jada Blitz) and never looked back.

1.)  Why did you choose Jada Blitz as your fitness facility?

I chose Jada Blitz due to the reputation that preceded them through word of mouth.  I also have a few friends that trained here and were happy with their results.

2.)  How does your trainer motivate you through a workout?

I train with Mike K.  Mike uses a few motivation techniques.  These include: staying energetic and attentive.  He critiques form to ensure you’re doing it properly and gives praise when you do so.  He keeps the mood light and entertaining as he dances and serenades you through mumbling the lyrics of the music pumping through the speakers at the gym.

3.)  What is your favorite body part to train and why?

Legs are my favorite part to train.  The amount of output I can achieve just drives me to improve them and push more weight.

4.)   Do you have a go to jam that gets you pumped for a workout?

The Weather Girls:  It’s Raining Men…..Oh wait lol…I mean Beast (Southpaw Soundtrack Remix) by Rob Bailey

5.)  Do you have a favorite pre-post workout meal?

Most of my workouts happen in the morning so my pre workout is Life cereal with a protein shake.  My post workout is yogurt with oatmeal and another protein shake.

6.)  What is one attribute you love about your trainer?

The attribute I love most about Mike is that no matter what kind of day he’s having or had, he doesn’t bring that into his training sessions.  He’s always positive no matter what the circumstances.  (Unless he’s complaining about how sore he is from a workout Justin put him through)

7.)   Why should someone who is looking for a gym try Jada Blitz?

Whether you’re just starting out or looking to further your fitness goals, Jada Blitz works with you to achieve them.  As long as you want it bad enough, they’ll get you there!
